Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date ‘President’ (19018) – Chrono Swiss Watch

Vintage 36mm Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date ‘President’ (19018) The Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date “President” represents a unique chapter in Rolex’s history, produced from 1977 until the early 2000s. Introduced during the height of the quartz crisis, the Oysterquartz combined Rolex’s traditional prestige with cutting-edge quartz technology. Unlike most of Rolex’s models, the Oysterquartz featured a distinct angular case and integrated bracelet, giving it a bold, modern look influenced by 1970s design trends. The Day-Date version carried the same prestige as its mechanical counterpart, crafted in solid gold and often seen with the iconic President bracelet, but it housed Rolex’s in-house quartz caliber 5055, known for its precision and reliability. Although never produced in large numbers compared to mechanical Rolex models, the Oysterquartz Day-Date remains a rare and fascinating piece, representing Rolex’s careful engagement with quartz technology while staying true to its luxury identity. Collectors today value it both for its scarcity and its strikingly different design within the Rolex lineup.
