Breguet Reine de Naples (8918) – Chrono Swiss Watch

Pre-Owned 37mm x 28.5mm Breguet Reine de Naples (8918) The Breguet Reine de Naples traces its origins to 1810, when Abraham-Louis Breguet created what is widely regarded as the first wristwatch for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples and sister of Napoleon Bonaparte. The original timepiece featured an elongated oval shape and was designed to be worn on the wrist, a radical concept at a time when pocket watches dominated. This commission established an early link between Breguet and women’s wristwatches, combining technical ingenuity with refined aesthetics. The modern Reine de Naples collection, reintroduced by Breguet in 2002, pays homage to this historic creation while incorporating contemporary watchmaking expertise. Characterized by its distinctive egg-shaped case, off-center dials, and refined finishing, the line reflects Breguet’s blend of heritage, elegance, and mechanical sophistication. Today, the Reine de Naples stands as a signature women’s collection, celebrating both one of the earliest wristwatches ever made and Breguet’s enduring influence on horological design.
